Daily Pattern: Ducklings

Topic: babies

Add this to the list of awesome things about Minneapolis: there are lakes in the city. On those lakes there are ducks (during the warmer months), and sometimes those ducks have babies. I suppose any place with a pond in it has some ducks.

Daily Pattern: Owl Cushion

“The first items I thought of for today's topic of pillow are the several owl cushions I have on my bed in different colours! My friends know I love owls so I've received several as gifts; this pattern is a sort of amalgamation of the several I own :).”

Daily Pattern: Singing in the Crowd

Looks the the whole flock are packed into Minvera's pattern! They seem to be enjoying themselves with the sweet song of their birdie-brethren. though.

Daily Pattern: Party Penguins

Penguins might be an obvious choice when thinking about classy animals who could rock a bow tie with ease, but I don't care. Party down penguins!

P.S. That penguin is doing a back spin. Not floating in water...

Daily Pattern - Dean, the baby bird

Dean was the best, pinkest, cutest, tiniest little grouchy man. I will miss him dearly. He was a good bird friend and such a great guy. This one's for you, Dean!

Daily Pattern: Mean Dean

This one is for my littlest homey, Dean. He was an OG bird with swagga to spare.

Daily Pattern - Bird Perch

I only got to meet Dean for a short amount of time during my visit, but I'm so sad to hear of his passing. He was a very lovely bird that filled the office with silly chirps, and singing. He will be missed, and this pattern is in honor of the late, and great Dean.

Daily Pattern: Backyards are for the Birds

I had a ton of icons sketched up for a silly Backyard BBQ pattern. But after work we took a trip to West Elm. There's so much simple, beautiful and brilliant stuff there. I was inspired to do a complete 180 and make some (slightly) more sophisticated bird patterns since part of the fun of summer is watching the birds gather in the backyard.

I think my normal work is split between the fun/silly and the quiet/serious. Maybe because of the crazy ridiculous pace of making a pattern a day in our free time (HA!) I default to the silly ideas.

This was really fun, despite the pain of searching for legal and free stock photography. If I wanted to spend some cash monies it would have went a lot quicker.

Daily Pattern - Whistling is for the birds

Robins are probably the best birds second only to our pink studio Canary, Dean.
I had to make a bird pattern. The more I thought about it, the more I got excited to make some proud, strutting birds singing their favorite songs! I'll leave their particular songs up to interpretation. I'm sure "Final countdown" is probably one of those floating around in this pattern.
