Daily Pattern: French Pastry

Despite it's sweet and innocent appearance, today's pattern was a real pain.

I didn't start until late at night. I had no good ideas. I forgot my mouse at work. I had no scanner. I was sick as a dog. I also don't know exactly what a french pastry is or isn't (thanks Wikipedia).

Luckily the jams were on my side. I just put my head down and turned the volume up and powered through this one...

So here it is! Macarons and all!

Also, in case you couldn't guess, I've never taken French. The background is composed of words I do actually know (merci, bonjour, oui, au revoir, etc) and I'm not even sure you can actually say "le éclair"...

I actually fully deleted the macaroons from my pattern - not even because of the abundance of macaroons in everyone else's patterns - mostly because they didn't have icing on top. Here is my super sweet french pastry pattern. Bon appetit!

I'm not gonna lie, I was thinking about macarons, too. But then I remembered that I really just like all pastries. I also like miniature food. So I drew a bunch!

I couldn't help it! I'm sure everyone else that is doing this pattern was thinking about delicious, colorful Macarons. I know I was. The first time I had one was in Columbus, Ohio - when Chris and I were visiting our awesome friend Ryan. They had cookies in a million and one colors, some of them exotic, some of them not so much. They're light, fluffy and totally beautiful! There you have it! Delicious topic!
