Daily Pattern : Inseparable

Topic : BFF (Best Friends Forever)

I've got two dogs. A big one and a little one. Since day one they've been the ultimate duo. Now that they're getting a little grey around the muzzles, they're a stronger team than ever. I love these hairy babies. What a pair of goofy mutts.

Daily Pattern : Kitten Excitement

I don't have a very big immediate family, but I DO have a pretty big family of pets. I absolutely LOVE animals. Each and every one of my pets has a funny personality. I often like to draw them when I have free-time, and today I instantly thought to tile them in today's "family" topic. I love these cats!

Daily Pattern: Kitty Booties

Another cat pattern! Would you believe this is only my second one? I'll try to keep the number of cats down in the future. For now, here's a few more.

Beautiful day to draw & drink tea

Today is gorgeous outside. It's just a little cooler than it has been lately. It's light sweater weather. Just like I like it. The dogs are calm and we are plugging away at some pattern projects.

Strangely Delicious new tea with beautiful packaging

I got a new tea at Seward Co-op over the weekend and just got the chance to try it out. It's from Juniper Ridge and comes in this gorgeous container. I suppose I'm a sucker for nice looking packaging. They also sell a tea that is douglas fir tips. I wonder how that tastes... I see Bear Grylls making tea out of weird stuff all the time and it doesn't kill him. I'll let you know how it goes!

(This tea tastes like minty pizza)

Weekend Update, Pets & Pattern Rally Contest

Jadeyinthewindow

Summer is here at Paper Bicycle. Minneapolis has transformed into a sweltering hot, steamy jungle and we're sipping cold-press coffees and cranking the air conditioning. We've been going strong on our Daily Pattern Project and have been partnering with Illustration Rally for a three week Pattern Rally.

We're giving away a limited edition poster (Only a few left!!) as well as one of our sweet PB designed water bottles (your choice) to three lucky pattern-makers.

PAPERBICYCLE_DAILYPATTERN_GIVEAWAY

Head over to Illustration Rally and contribute to next week's topic. We have one week left for the "Pets" Entry.
I hope you have a chance to contribute! Click through to find out the details of how to submit! Happy weekend to you and please enjoy this 80's-montage-looking senior-photo-type picture of our cat Jade.

What a fitting picture to start off next week's pet themed pattern rally!

Daily Pattern: Racetrack Dogs

I hate cars and love dogs, so I figured drawing some Greyhounds might be fun. But they are kind of strange looking so it was harder than I would have guessed.

Daily Pattern - Spa

So I started a whole bunch of patterns which I wasn't pleased with, until I went with something totally wacky and cute.
Spa cats!

Sibfox

Remember when there was a popularity surge in dog breed mashups? How about a species step backward in the canine family tree? Sibfox is a pet fox distribution company, so you can head right on over if you think you've found your new best friend.

And even if you are pretty sure you've reached your pet limit–like the rest of us here–the site also has interesting information about the origins of this peculiar species.
If anybody does get a pet fox, by the way, let us know.

Tim Flach

Tim Flach photographs animals. His gorgeous book Equus was dedicated entirely to horses. He just recently released Dogs, filled with a ton of amazing images of... dogs. Which (as you might know) is a subject very close to Paper Bicycle's heart.

Again, check out his site because it's absolutely loaded with brilliant photographs. Picking only six photos to share was difficult, I could have just as easily picked sixty.
