Daily Pattern: Barn Owls

When I was a kid I had a fascination with raptors, birds of prey. I remember putting together a binder of pictures I found in magazines as part of a 'research project'. Everyone knew about the great horned owl, and I assumed all owls must look like those. But then I found a picture of a barn owl and its weird ghostly face. I decided they must be the best owl.

Rings are round with holes in them. So are fruit loops. I don't actually like fruit loops very much, I've always been a trix man myself.

Octo-Paisley!!

Topic: Paisley

According to Wikipedia a paisley pattern is supposed to be a "droplet-shaped vegetable motif". Last time I checked octopus are not a vegetable. So strictly speaking, I guess this is maybe not paisley at all. But that's OK. None of my haiku's ever dealt with nature. And my limericks are never dirty.



Edit: If anyone is counting, the 8th tentacles are hiding...

Daily Pattern: Medusa and Wednesday...

...share an awful lot of letters.

I was always a big fan of Greek Mythology when I was younger. Lots of people with beards, monsters, mountains. Sort of like my home state of Colorado...

Anyway, I decided to make a grumpy medusa (and isn't she always so angry looking in paintings? I guess I would be too if people kept trying to chop my head off...)

Daily Pattern: Luxury is anything made of solid gold

In my mind there is a Simpson's quote about a solid gold car. But I found out I had it all wrong. In reality Chester J. Lampwick said, "I don't care about the money any more. As long as I have my health, my solid gold house, my millions of dollars and my rocket car I'm fine."

I'd rather have a solid gold car I think. Or a bunch of them. With diamonds. Yup.



And because that's not enough solid gold cars, here is even more.

Daily Pattern: The stormiest Planet

Ok, I have been an almost never contributor on these patterns, but I am on a mission, for better or for worse, to do all of them for a while. First up: storm. And you can't have a good storm without lots and lots of clouds*.

Daily Pattern: Beard-o

Jesse here. So this is my second ever pattern (not counting all my secret patterns). I opted to draw on personal experience as a beard-sportin' sort. This is how I envision myself if the world were a utopia. And if there were a whole lot of me. Standing really, really close to each other. Too close.

Daily Pattern: Send in the Clowns

Today we have a special guest pattern by our great friend, amazing artist and all around hairy guy Jesse Riggle!

Although Jesse specializes in awesome paintings, he's always wanted to give patterns a try as well. As he says himself "I don't think I have ever made a pattern that wasn't just squares, circles, or straight lines. Wait, I lied, I made one of registered TM circle R's once... That doesn't count."
