Everybody knows that jackalopes are the fearsome stuff of legend. They may be one of the cuter versions of mythological beasts, but that doesn't make them any more friendly. Unless you're talking about this guy, who is always willing to give a hand and some advice.

Raise your hand if you've heard the one about the kid that drank a 20oz bottle of coke and downed a couple packets of Pop Rocks! Anyone? Anyone??
Well, he exploded. From the inside out.
Yes, well, maybe it's an urban legend, but it's still one of those myths that I remember from my childhood.

Anyone else remember one of those myths? How about -- Gum stays in your stomach for 7 years if you swallow it! Can you remember any more of them?

Daily Pattern: Ol' Nessie

When I was young I wanted to see the Loch Ness monster so bad. It was both exciting and terrifying beyond belief. The thought that there could be anything remotely dinosaur-esque hidden somewhere in the world captured my imagination. But I've also always been terrified of what might lurk under murky water.

So Nessie always held a special allure to me. If I could have seen the Loch Ness monster in person, I could have died a happy ten year old. But I would have also pooped my pants.

I've since given up hope but the grainy pictures still send a modest shiver down my spine. In a good way. This pattern started out as a pack of happy sea monsters but I quickly realized that it should be dark, grainy, foggy and unclear. It's just more exciting that way.

I was always a big fan of Greek Mythology when I was younger. Lots of people with beards, monsters, mountains. Sort of like my home state of Colorado...

Anyway, I decided to make a grumpy medusa (and isn't she always so angry looking in paintings? I guess I would be too if people kept trying to chop my head off...)
