Are We Designer

We Are Designer is a small studio in Germany that does some fantastic work.

I've never seen such a lovely 'Global Trendbook and color chip book for presentation of current collection of automobile color coatings.' In fact, I've probably never seen one of those at all... but I kind of want this one.

Art of the Title

I love title sequences in movies. It's like a chance to put a self-contained little statement at the beginning of your movie and a lot of films make great use of that opportunity.

Ian Albinson, Founder and editor-in-chief of Art of the Title, put together this amazing collection of title sequences through the years, aptly called The Art of the Title Sequence.



Ahhh, the memories and good times come flooding back. Also, this video gets a big thumbs-up for using music by one of my favorite musicians, RJD2.

Wayne White

Wayne White's word paintings are impressive and funny. There are hundreds of them to click through on his site, so obviously there's too many great ones to post.











But what makes Wayne White even more awesome is that he was a designer for Pee-Wee's Playhouse and won three Emmys for his work! Awesome!

Rifle Paper Co.

Rifle Paper Co. is a husband-and-wife team of Anna and Nathan Bond. Anna's whimsical illustrations and hand-drawn typography create sweet and pretty stationary and paper goods for all!





So cute!

Words are Pictures

Words are Pictures is a collaborative studio founded by Craig Ward. They make a lot of awesome type pieces using traditional, digital, photography and programing techniques.

There's a ton of great work on the site (although I had a little bit of an easier time sorting through it all over on Craig's Behance page), and I'd love to decorate the studio with some prints of his work.

Serial Cut

I noticed the always-inspiring Serial Cut recently updated with some new work! As expected, it's pretty dope.

Nik Ainley

I love this type by Nik Ainley. I just want to pick it up and play with it.

ZEITGUISED

ZEITGUISED make strange and wonderful things. I'm not sure how or why, but it's great stuff.










Mind-boggling.

Calligraphy

These little bits of hand type make me so happy. Penmanship is a lost art - A couple of months back I posted a link to a great calligraphy site. I still believe we need to revive handwriting.

Fred Eerdekens creates sculptures that may not look particularly special at first glance. Once properly lit, however, they become almost magical.

Piel Script

A good script font is tough to find. You always need one, but it seems like you never have one that works just right. I'm always on the lookout for excellent new ones.



Piel Script is a beautiful new font that pays homage to tattoo culture. And I like it a lot.
