There was this picture book I remember from when I was a kid called The Mitten. It featured an abandoned mitten that ended up housing a menagerie of animals. There was at least a chipmunk, a fox, and a bear.
I considered that, but then settled on a menagerie of mittens. In the context of the story, this image is a little frightening.

Daily Pattern : Underfoot

Today was perfect. It was drizzling all day, grey and deserted. My kind of day. Just the perfect fall day. I saw the first signs of "real" fall on the ground. Just a couple brightly colored leaves scattered about from this week's cold snap.

Fall always makes me feel great. It's always a beginning for me. It gives me lots of ideas and everything just slows down a little. I'm looking forward to more brisk walks out in this gorgeous grey weather. Welcome, fall. I've missed you.

Daily Pattern: Brisk Dog-walking

I'm not happy unless I've got a jacket and scarf on. That's just one reason that fall is my favorite season. Cold enough for the sweetest clothes, warm enough to not be excruciatingly, bone-chilling cold. A match made in heaven.

Fall makes me think of taking brisk dog-walks in the crunchy leaves. It also makes me think of women's fashion in Minneapolis. As it get's colder, the tops get more and more layered, the boots get higher and bigger, but the stretch pants stay.



Alright Lindsay! Time to break out the weird ponchos! Oh wait, you never put them away...
