It's no secret that I went to art school for film before I switched over to what I do now. I've certainly watched my fair share of movies. And like any budding filmmaker, I was a huge fan of Stanley Kubrick. I watched and re-watched all of his films and read several
books
on the
subject
(protip: I was a Full Metal Jacket kinda guy).
When I started thinking about the word 'play' I immediately thought of The Shinning. The phrase "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." is pretty hard to forget.

And for those with a good eye, yes that geometric pattern is the
famous carpet.
